Objective:
The purpose of this study was cephalometric evaluation of four premolar extractions in mandibular deficient patient by custom x-y coordinate mesh.
Methods and Materials:
The material compromised of two groups of 30 mandibular deficient patients. Initial treatment in first group was functional therapy and was headgear therapy in second group. Treatment of both group followed by edgewise fix treatment including four premolar extraction because of severe crowding. A custom transparent x-y coordinate mesh was designed. Each landmark specified by a unique x and y value. Then mathematical methods used for cephalometric evaluation.
Results:
This study show advantages for first group comparing to second group including more increase in mandibular length and more forward displacement of point B.
Conclusion:
Custom x-y coordinate mesh evaluation indicated the first group has more efficiency in treatment of mandibular deficient patients.
