Class III malocclusion is characterized by either maxillary deficiency, mandibular prognathism or a combination of both of them. Various devices have been used to correct this malocclusion. If Class III malocclusion is caused by mandibular prognathism then mandibular setback would be the treatment of choice. Mandibular setback is done in the patients who are 18 years of age or more. In case of maxillary deficiency, many types of appliances such as face mask can be used. Facemask is the most common device that has been used to correct this kind of malocclusion for many years. Nevertheless, many patients do not like to use extra oral appliances due to their bulky size and lack of cooperation can be seen in many of them. In this workshop, the focus is on some other appliances which are used  to correct maxillary deficiency namely reverse chin cup , FR3, tongue appliance, tongue plate, Cl III  traction combined with miniscrew, and Cl III traction combined with miniplates. The advantages and disadvantages of each device would be discussed. It should be taken into account that the main focus of this workshop is on the treatment approach and planning.
